My Songs.
‘Songs from Greenock’ is the most recent release from Chloe MacLeod and explores the West of Scotland town throughout the years.
The EP follows the history of the town while highlighting certain key events, including the shipbuilders rise and fall, the Greenock Blitz’s and the importance of sugar. Whilst showcasing these events they are soundtracked by music that was prominent during the time.
For example, the track discussing the Greenock Blitz’s was written in a jazz swing style to emulate and further immersive the listener into the history of the town.
‘Hesitate’ was Chloe MacLeod’s debut single, which was a haunting, raw, atmospheric track that explores a quiet ache of emptiness and self-discovery. Lyrical introspective allows the listener to enter a reflective space where vulnerability becomes strengthen.
